Museo Nacional Palacio Cantón.- Paseo Montejo No. 485 x 43, Mérida



Housed in a building from the early twentieth century belonging to General Francisco Canton, the building is imposing and majestic with a style called Beaux Arts that was common during the Porfiriato. In its rooms are exhibited the most important aspects of culture: the first settlers, worldview, and trade relations, as a state constitution, to name a few. A place full of history that you cannot miss.

Museo del Mudo Maya - Calle 60 Norte, Mérida. Junto Al Centro De Convenciones Siglo XXI



Housed in an impressive architectural structure inspired by the ceiba tree, the museum is dedicated to the most important and largest cultural influence of the Yucatan Peninsula: Mayan; as well as the transformations that culture suffered with the arrival of other individuals. You will learn about the traditions, rituals, ethnology, customs and much more about the Maya.

Celestún - Ubicado 90 km al oeste de Mérida, Mérida



This is the ideal place if you like enjoy the vast nature of the area. Mérida en Domingo - En la Plaza Grande, Mérida Centro Histórico

Museo Fernando García Ponce Macay - Pasaje de la Revolución entre 58 y 60, Mérida.



It was initially designed as Archbishop's Palace, currently is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of modern and contemporary art. It has 15 rooms for temporary exhibitions, 2 galleries and 3 permanent rooms where the works of Fernando Castro Pacheco, Fernando Garcia Ponce and Gabriel Ramirez Aznar are exhibited.

Schedule: Open through Wednesday to Monday, from 10:00 to 18:00 hrs.

Palacio de Gobierno- Calle 61 s/n, Mérida



This property was the site of the ancient royal houses, in which the offices of the top brass were. At the end of independence is given the name of the government palace in the nineteenth century and was demolished to build the current palace. Inside you can see different murals by the artist Fernando Castro Pacheco, which tell the story of Yucatan.

Casa de Montejo - Calle 63 No. 506, Mérida


It was built between 1542 and 1549 by order of Don Francisco de Montejo, which was the conqueror of the Yucatan Peninsula. This building is a clear example of civil constructions of the Renaissance style. The building is currently the Cultural Banamex and Museo Casa Montejo, where you will find four permanent galleries displaying objects and furniture of the nineteenth century and three temporary rooms.

Zona Arqueológica de Uxmal- A 80 km al suroeste de Mérida



Another stop of the Ruta Puuc, is Uxmal. This place has several imposing buildings surrounded by spectacular nature. The most prominent of these is the House of the Magician 35 meters. But also, El Convento which is likely to have been used as a school for healers, astrologers and priests. He also admires the Casa de las Palomas, the Governor's Palace, the Quadrangle of the Nuns, to name a few more.

Truck Yucatán- Salidas cerca de Cuzamá, a 45 km de Mérida, Mérida



A great way to meet three of the most beautiful underground cenotes of the region is on board this sympathetic cart pulled by mules. Bloody path overgrown roads, you will walk seven kilometers from stopping at the Chelentún, Bolonchojol Chacsinicché and cenotes. Zona arqueológica Dzibilchaltún- Ubicado 16 km al Norte de Mérida.

Grutas de Loltún- Ubicada a 110 km al sureste de Mérida

Izamal- Ubicada a 72 km al oriente de Mérida


A lovely yellow city, is known as the City of Three Cultures because that three periods of our Mexican history come together: the prehispanic, colonial and modern. Exconvento y parroquia de San Francisco de Asís - Umán- Calle 20 Centro, Ubicado A 18 Km Al Suroeste De Mérida

Zona Arqueológica de Labná -km 20 de la Ruta Puuc, a 120 Km Al Sur De Mérida

Grutas de Calcehtok -Ubicada a 43 km al suroeste de Mérida, entre Las Localidades De Maxcanú Y Opichén

Rio Lagartos- located very close to Valladolid, in the Yucatan Peninsula



The area was declared a Special Biosphere Reserve in the year 1979. In the 60,000 protected hectares lives the largest population of flamingos in Mexico, with over 40,000 birds.
The waters of these estuaries are light blue in color. Río Lagartos has become the favorite place of hundreds of pink flamingos, who have made of this site the perfect place to nest and give birth to their young.

Puerto Progreso – al norte del estado, a 36 kilómetros de la ciudad de Mérida, siguiendo la carretera número 261



Progreso’s lovely waterfront promenade is always bustling with food and craft vendors, local residents and beach-goers, and the waters just off the coast are calm, clean and good for swimming.
Progreso is also a popular cruise ship destination, and the city is famous for its pier which extends an impressive four miles into the Gulf of Mexico.

The tranquil fishing village of Chelem is located just a few minutes from the town of Progreso, where many people from Merida come to spend the weekends. Its white sand beaches are broad, and are the perfect getaway for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle to find peace and tranquility. The town is very small, but there are some wonderful restaurants that offer fresh and delicious seafood.
